Joe Golike → I make interactive things with data.
This tool arose out of a need I had to edit the city and neighborhood shapes for Neighborhood Finder. City boundaries often extend into lakes (Chicago), bays (San Francisco), and oceans (Los Angeles). While these may be the true political boundaries of a city, they just look weird on a map since what most people think of a city boundary ends at the shoreline. With this tool I could drag and drop the individual points of a city shape, add or remove points, and generally clean up the way the shape lines up with the base map tiles.
